SETTING AND ATMOSPHERE This big, open dining room just off the lobby, with whimsical Wild West decor, was long the scene of raucous cast member–led antics that stirred up kids like a nest of happy hornets. Well, no more: The fun and games are gone, and Whispering Canyon is finally trying to live up to its name.

HOUSE SPECIALTIES For breakfast, the all-you-can-eat platter offers bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, waffles, and buttermilk biscuits and gravy. For lunch and dinner, big skillets loaded with corn bread, barbecue pulled pork or ribs, roasted chicken, sausage, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and corn on the cob are crowd-pleasers.
